Noise Reduction
The Noise Reduction effect reduces noise using a threshold value to define what’s noise. Small changes in luminance below that value are considered noise and get a noise reduction treatment, which is a local blur. Changes above the threshold value are considered edges, so they are sharpened. The effect is a subtle one that is more apparent when you compare the enlargements of the source image with the resulting image.

Inputs

• Noise Level: A threshold value that the filter uses to determine which parts of an image are noisy. The default value is 0.02. The range is from 0.0 to 0.1.
• Sharpness: The amount of sharpening to apply. The default value is 0.4. The range is from 0.0 to 2.0.
